We did a day trip to Gorey and had brunch here. The food was delicious! I had the breakfast brioche, my husband had the honey chicken poke bowl (a little bit too much batter & on the sweet side), and our girls had the mac & cheese from the kids menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed our main.

The only thing I would say about my dish is that the portion was massive. Just a lot of stuff so the brioche bun cannot be closed and had to be eaten top & bottom separately. I wished I could have enjoyed my breakfast brioche together as a whole with the fillings...I did try initially but it was very unsuccessful I had to give up! I feel like they can offer a single portion (one less sausage and less bacon) & a normal portion.

We went downstairs to the bakery afterwards to pick up a caramel cinnamon bun and cinnamon twist for takeaway. Also, we couldn't leave without a dessert....we decided on the Salted Caramel & Honeycomb ice cream (it's like a Sundae). Everything was 10/10!

Idiotic seating policy that doesn’t cater to buggies / wheelchair users.

After reading other reviews I can see I’m not alone in my experience here! The food is incredible, but unfortunately the management is absolutely abhorrent. We came into Gorey especially to eat here but were turned away (without remorse) essentially because we had a newborn baby with us. They have a weekend “policy” where anyone looking to get lunch (not pastries/coffees) must sit upstairs. We explained that we had just gotten our baby asleep and taking her out of the buggy as advised would mean her waking up and us not getting to enjoy any lunch at all. You’d think an exception would be made but they insisted that we would need to go upstairs in order to get lunch. Sometimes younger staff follow rules and don’t use common sense out of fear of getting in trouble which is fine I suppose.. So I expected that when we asked for the manager that she would come out and say of course we could sit downstairs for lunch seeing as we had a newborn baby with us, but no. She insisted we had to eat upstairs despite there being a tonne of free tables downstairs. How in the name of God is that a reasonable “policy”? We weren’t looking to skip the queue of people and “put too much pressure on the kitchen staff”. We would have been happy to just grab a table downstairs and wait our turn for food. Essentially they don’t cater to anyone with a buggy and I suspect the same attitude applies for anyone in a wheelchair or with any kind of immobility. Won’t be going here again out of principle. It’s hard enough getting out of the house with a baby without this idiotic behaviour. Total nonsense.

An amazing cafe in Gorey, food is really delicious, honestly you can try anything on the menu you won’t be disappointed, they all have something special! Their Parmesan fries are really amazing, as well as the pastries, special mention to their croissants (coming from a French person 😇) the staff is really lovely too. So lucky to have them in Gorey!
